The Audit & Risk Committee provides independent oversight and advice to council to help ensure its resources are used as effectively as possible. It supports council in achieving its prudential responsibilities by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of financial management, risk management, control and governance processes. It also coordinates internal and external audits.

The Committee shall meet at least four times a year at appropriate times in the reporting and audit cycle and otherwise as required.

Regional Council of Goyder Audit & Risk Committee generally meets on the same day as ordinary meetings of council (third Tuesday of each month at 10:00am or 10:30am) at the Burra Council Chambers unless otherwise advertised.
