EUDUNDA SKATE PARK BECOMES A REALITY

As identified in the Goyder Master Plan 2022 - 2037, the local communities’ vision for a safe and inclusive play space for children and young people has become a reality in Eudunda.

Council recognises the need to engage local young people in the future planning for youth spaces and from the outset, the project has been driven by Goyder Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), for the benefit of youth living in Goyder. Concept plans were developed and reviewed by the Goyder YAC and the local community, where valuable feedback and ideas assisted that brought together a design that is unique and multi-faceted. Suitable for all skill levels with multiple opportunities for long runs and plenty of tricks! The design includes a shelter, BBQ, seating, and drink fountain. Elements of blue concrete provide an acknowledgement to mental health and the Eudunda-cowie spring.

Much to the communities’ delight, Trinity Skateparks completed the construction in late 2023. The skate park provides an outdoor space for youth, children and families in the township of Eudunda that supports active and healthy recreation and provides a safe and inclusive space that connects within the recreation hub.

This project was made possible through the State Government Open Space Grant Funding Program of $290,000 and Council funding of $317,000. Total project cost $606,000.

Thank you to everyone who joined Goyder YAC for the opening of the Eudunda Skate Park on Saturday February 3rd, 2024. 🛹

It was a very successful opening with many children and young people attending the skateboard sessions run by Build Up Skateboarding on the day.
Council would like to thank everyone involved with this project including the Goyder YAC members, Baseplate Design and Trinity Skateparks as well as funding provided from the SA Government’s Open Spaces and Places funding program.
