Published 30th March 2026
Volunteers, community and landholder groups, schools, First Nations, agriculture organisations and councils can now apply for a Grassroots Grant, funded through the landscape levy, to help sustainably manage the region's natural resources.

Applications for the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board's

2026-2027 Grassroots Grants program are now open!

From 30 March 2026, community groups will be able to apply for $2,000 to $10,000 to bring projects to life. The one-year projects must contribute to one or more of the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board's regional priorities.

Grassroots Grants support community led environmental projects that care for land, water and nature across the Northern and Yorke region. Whether your idea is big or small, practical or innovative, this funding helps local people turn ideas into real, on ground action.

These grants are designed for:

  • Community groups and volunteers
  • Not for profit organisations
  • Schools and local networks
  • Groups with an incorporated sponsor or incorporated themselves

Expressions of Interest (EOI) will open on Monday, 30 Monday 2026 and close 5pm Friday, 10 April 2026, with projects to be completed by 30 June 2027.

If EOI is successful, successful applicants will be asked to proceed to stage 2 - the full application stage.

Applications must be submitted online using SmartGrants between Tuesday, 22 April and close at 5pm Friday, 15 May 2026.
