Grassroots Grants Funding Now Open

Published 31st March 2025
Volunteers, community and landholder groups, schools, First Nations, agriculture organisations and councils can now apply for a Grassroots Grant, funded through the landscape levy, to help sustainably manage the region's natural resources.

Applications for the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board's

2025-2026 Grassroots Grants program are now open!

The Northern and Yorke Landscape Board is offering up to $200,000 in grant money, funded through the landscape levy, to help sustainably manage the region’s natural resources.

Now in its sixth year, the Northern and Yorke Grassroots Grants program funds projects between $2,000 and $10,000 that contribute to one or more of the Board’s regional priorities and focus areas.

Potential projects include weed, pest or disease control, watercourse or wetland management, revegetation, survey and monitoring activities, sustainable agriculture trials, cultural knowledge sharing and community education.

Unlike last year, the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board is not offering multi-year project funding. Only 1-year projects will be accepted during this round.

This year the Board has improved the application process, making it much easier for people to apply.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) open on Monday, 31 Monday 2025 and close 5pm Friday, 11 May 2025, with projects to be completed by 30 June 2026.

If EOI is successful, successful applicants will be asked to proceed to stage 2 - the full application stage.

Applications must be submitted online using SmartGrants between Tuesday, 22 April and closing 5pm Friday, 16 May 2025.
