Historic Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Regional Council of Goyder and Ngadjuri Nation Aboriginal Corporation
Tuesday the 18th of June 2024 marked a significant moment in the history of our community as the Regional Council of Goyder and the Ngadjuri Nation Aboriginal Corporation came together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on country in the Burra Council Chambers.
The MOU represents the partnership between the two organisations built on mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to a better future. It is a living document that will evolve as our relationship grows and as we learn from one another. The MOU also acknowledges the overwhelming community support in the Goyder region that underscores the importance of this partnership.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Mayor Bill Gebhardt says "I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Ngadjuri Nation Aboriginal Corporation Board for their openness, wisdom, and collaboration. Their input has been invaluable, and their trust is deeply appreciated."
Looking ahead, the Mayor concluded, "The journey ahead is bright, and together, the Regional Council of Goyder and the Ngadjuri Nation Aboriginal Corporation will make great strides. This week we did not just sign a document, but we are forged a path to a shared future."
This MOU marks a milestone in our shared history, and we look forward to the positive impact this partnership will bring.
