Ayers Colonial Cottage
Ayers Burra Cottage is set up for up to 2 couples in 2 Queen sized bedrooms. The lounge room has a flat screen TV and DVD and a great slow combustion log fire. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a separate dining room with a bookcase full of old books. The cottage includes Laundry facilities and large bathroom with shower and toilet. Outside there is a large front garden, outdoor verandah areas and Gas BBQ. The cottage is located within a short walking distance of La Pecora Nera (The Black Sheep) Restaurant which is famous for their wood fired oven Italian style pizza. But you must book in advance as they are often booked out well in advance. We also recommend White Cedars Balinese style restaurant or St Just Cafe for the best coffee. This historic copper miner's cottage was constructed in about 1851 and is named after Sir Henry Ayers, the Chairman of the South Australian Mining Association who owned the massive copper mine. He was also Premier of South Australia and they named a rock after him as well!
