A message from the Premier

4th August 2020
We know how quickly COVID-19 can spread, and that's why we are taking swift action to keep South Australians safe.

A message from the premier

You don't have to look far to see the devastating effect COVID-19 is having in Victoria.

From midnight tonight, new restrictions on residential private gatherings and the service of food and drink will come into effect.

  • Residential private gatherings will be limited to 10 people
  • Patrons must be seated in cafes, restaurants and licensed venues when consuming food and drinks.

Further sensible increases to restrictions are being considered to help stop the spread. We are acting on expert advice to keep the people of South Australia safe, while keeping our economy moving forward.

Testing rates have been exceptional over the past few weeks, and we want to see this continue.

If you have any cold or flu symptoms, get tested - either at a COVID-19 testing clinic, a drive through facility, or a mobile testing station.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Steven Marshall
Premier of South Australia
